From Liam Neeson to Lin-Manuel Miranda to Bill Gates, some of the world’s most successful people tried out for the coveted “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” of voicing Professor Stephen Hawking temporarily.

The theoretical physicist and cosmologist turned down a lot more celebrities including Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Gordon Ramsay, Simon Cowell—who received a cold blood no, and even Eddie Redmayne who portrayed professor Hawking in the film The Theory of Everything, among others.

After a tough battle of talents, the crowning glory was finally taken by cinema’s most instantly recognisable voices: Michael Caine.
