Debuting a fresher awards show, the MTV Movie and TV Awards now honors both big and small projects and presented gender-neutral awards for the first time ever on Sunday night at the Shrine Auditorium in LA.

Emma Watson clinched the coveted ‘Best Actor in a Movie’ category for her work in Beauty and the Beast, which also won the ‘Movie of the Year’ award. On the other hand, Stranger Things dominated the major TV categories, winning ‘Show of the Year’ and having Millie Bobby Brown pick up ‘Best Actor in a Show’.

“I think I’m being given this award because of who Belle is and what she represents. The villagers in our fairy tale wanted to make Belle believe the world was smaller than the way that she saw it, with fewer opportunities for her. I love playing someone who didn’t listen to any of that,” Watson, even more honored with MTV’s gender-less categories, said in her acceptance speech.
