Fredric A. Navarre, MBA, M.Ed.

Fredric A. Navarre is an Educator, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist who resides in Houston, Texas.
He combines his education, business and creative expertise as the owner of Momentum Capital
Management, LLC, Cascade Independent Living, LLC, The Kandy King Vending Co. and Cascade
Fredric holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Southern University, an MBA in Energy Finance from
Texas Southern University and a master’s degree in Education from The University of Texas at
Arlington. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership at Texas A&M University.
He has taught on the middle school, high school and college levels. He is a former lecturer in energy and
corporate finance and was Director of Academic Advising at Texas A&M University at Galveston. He has
been a review panelist for the National Science Foundation and has presented at the International
Conference of Adults Learning Mathematics and the National Academic Advising Association.
Fredric is currently in his third year as Board Chairman of Achievement Through Leadership
Foundation (ATLF). He also serves as Vice Chairman of One Delta Plaza Educational Center, Inc.
(ODPEC) and as Vice Polemarch of the Missouri City-Sugar Land (TX) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha
Psi Fraternity, Inc. – known as the Mo-City Nupes.
He is particularly proud of the accomplishments of Achievement Through Leadership Foundation, the
nonprofit educational affiliate of the Mo-City Nupes. This year, ATLF successfully hosted its third
annual Kasino Royale – the organization’s signature fundraiser. The growing charitable effort has
allowed ATLF to triple the number and amount of financial awards to deserving students. In 2017, the
foundation bestowed 14 scholarships to high school seniors from several Houston-area districts and
undergraduates from Texas Southern University, Prairie View A&M University and Sam Houston State
University, Texas State University and the University of St. Thomas in Houston.
In addition to numerous holiday toy and food drives as well as school supply collections, Fredric also
presided over the creation and implementation of ATLF’s summer enrichment program called
Project S.L.A.M. – STEM and Leadership Academy for Males. The inaugural four-day outreach in June
2016 engaged 50 Black and Hispanic young men at the Houston Independent School District’s Marshall
Middle School. Project S.L.A.M. 2017 is scheduled for June 19-22, 2017 at HISD’s Jack Yates High School.
Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Fredric served as Chapter President of the Denham
Springs-West Livingston Kiwanis Club in his home state and Vice President of the Jesse H. Jones School
of Business Alumni Chapter of Texas Southern University’s National Alumni Association. He is a
graduate of Class XXX of Project Blueprint, a Houston multicultural board leadership development
program. In addition, his service in the Greater Houston area has included serving as Board Treasurer
for Asians Against Domestic Abuse. He is a former Board Member of Academia In Motion, an
educational foundation, and served as a School Board Member of Bay Area Charter Schools. He also
was a mentor under the Houston Mayor’s Anti-Gang Office.
For his community leadership, Fredric has been featured in several publications – including the
Houston Chronicle, the Houston Defender, the Houston Forward Times, Who’s Who in Black Houston,
Houston Style and Empower magazine. In his role as ATLF chairman, he has been interviewed several
times by veteran journalist Melanie Lawson on ABC-13’s Crossroads television program. In 2017, he
was honored with the ‘40 under 40’ award from TSU’s Jesse H. Jones School of Business.
Fredric holds life memberships in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the Southern University National
Alumni Federation, Texas Southern University National Alumni Association, and The University of
Texas at Arlington Alumni Association.
