The United Negro College Fund will host the Mayor’s Masked Ball on February 24 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. The fundraiser will have over 800 guests and will be hosted by Mayor Mike Rawlings and chaired by Texas State Senator Royce West, Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, Plano’s Mayor Harry LaRosiliere; Desoto’s Mayor Curtistene McCowan; McKinney’s Mayor George Fuller; Farmer’s Branch Mayor Robert Dye, and many area business, civic and education leaders.
Benefiting historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), UNCF aims to change the narrative of HBCUs across the nation by equipping minority students with the resources necessary to transition into college and ultimately the workforce.
“Once again, I am pleased to host the UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball. Last year, we raised more than $800,000. This is the biggest fundraising event in Dallas that supports education for minority students,” said Rawlings. “Many sponsors have invested in the work of UNCF to ensure that more students from Dallas can receive a college education at a historically black college or university, and for this, I am very grateful. Investing in the college education of our young people will impact Dallas for many generations.”
