For almost 2 decades, Cedric Ballard has operated in the Levitical anointing, leading congregations both great and small to experience the presence of the Lord through authentic worship.
This highly sought after singer, songwriter, worship leader and psalmist first gained attention as a founding member of the group Damascus, which debuted on World Wide Gospel Records in 1999. Damascus’ success afforded Cedric the opportunity to have his songwriting abilities, adept vocal skills and musicianship as a drummer showcased all over the country. While singing with Damascus, Cedric benefited from the words of scripture that states a man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men. Cedric shared the stage with various iconic and influential music personalities including Karen Clark-Sheard, Donnie McClurkin, Kurt Carr, Daryl Coley, Shirley Caesar, Kim Burrell, Gary Mayes & Nu Era, Beyonce Knowles, and many more gospel and R&B artists.
In the area of ministry, Cedric has served as praise and worship leader, choral director, and minister of music for several of Houston’s most notable and progressive churches. Cedric organized Cedric Ballard Ministries to help organizations and individuals ascend to higher echelons in music ministry. With a heart for young people, Ballard Ministries also endeavors to connect and equip young people by helping them to accurately define success, develop God given abilities, and provide opportunities to exercise their talents.
Today, this Houston native son shares personal messages of faith with the release of Transparency, his long awaited CD debut and passion project. A life comprised of divinely ordered steps and an overcoming testimony fortified by the trials and triumphs of everyday life, Minister Cedric Ballard unashamedly stands ready, open and yielded for the Lord’s service with an intentional purpose to honor God, using his gifts and talents to encourage the Body of Christ to stand fast in the faith and be renewed in strength while compelling the lost to come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior via a personal relationship.
