The International Music and Food Festival (IMFest) is returning to Miami Gardens bigger, better and bolder than ever before! On Tuesday, June 26th, City of Miami Gardens Vice Mayor Erhabor Ighodaro will host a press conference featuring headliner Amara La Negra to officially kick-off the 3rd annual event. The press conference will take place atThe Licking, 17647 NW 27th Ave, Miami Gardens, FL at 10AM.
IMFest highlights the diversity of South Florida and the City of Miami Gardens by offering residents and visitors the opportunity to experience a multifaceted, culturally diverse festival. Vice Mayor Ighodaro, Miami Dade County Commissioner Barbara Jordan and the City of Miami Gardens partner to produce this annual event as a mechanism to promote culture and inclusion, a driver of local economic activity.
“We are one of the most culturally diverse cities in the nation,” explains Vice Mayor Ighodaro. “Miami Gardens is an eclectic mix of peoples from the Diaspora. We are proud that IMFest celebrates our rich mosaic of demographics by showcasing a variety of ethnic foods, vendors, and genres of music like Kompa, Reggae, Calypso, Merengue, Gospel, Jazz, Rap and Afro Jùjú. We are a world class city that’s all about the business of cultivating cultural diversity.”
This year’s IMFEST will be headlined by Amara La Negra, an international Dominican-American recording artist, and the breakout star of last season’s Love & Hip Hop: Miami.
“I am honored to represent the city that raised me as the official headliner of IMFest 2018,” says Amara La Negra. “Miami Gardens is a city that celebrates the people who make the city rich with diversity in music and culture.
