Frank Billingsley has been Houston, Texas’s beloved weatherman for over twenty years. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1963, Billingsley was adopted and raised in Mountain Brook, Alabama. He received his Bachelor of Arts from William & Lee and a Certificate of Broadcast Meterology from Mississippi State.

Frank seems to thrive under the “Why Not?” category of life: he chose a college he’d never even seen before because the catalogue’s Journalism curriculum impressed him; after college he backpacked across Europe all alone thinking he’d never have the chance again; and then he ventured into a Television Weathercasting career knowing little about it at the time, but its challenges intrigued him. He is adventurous, to say the least, but at the same time, safely curious.

At the end of the day, Frank loved college, still loves traveling and loves his career, so that part has worked out. He jumped into the exciting role of television meteorologist in 1982 and never looked back. Frank started his meteorology career in Roanoke, Virginia, stopped in Biloxi, Mississippi, in 1987 and finally landed in Houston in 1989. He’s worked for CBS, ABC and NBC and given his all to hurricanes, record snowfalls, devastating floods, and glorious spring days. Frank lives in Houston with his partner, Kevin, and this is his first book.
