Hip-hop lyricist Kendrick Lamar may have not taken home the Album of the Year Grammy at the 2018 Grammy Ceremony this year losing to Bruno Mars…but who cares??!

The Rap maestro just won a Pulitzer Prize for his album “Damn” becoming the first non-classical or non-jazz album to win the illustrious honor.

The organization announced Monday afternoon. Host Dana Canedy seemed quietly delighted when making the announcement.

Kendrick has made headlines for being somewhat a hip-hop savior since his 2012 release “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City.” At only 30 he has won 11 Grammy Awards and multiple other industry awards and have been applauded by the likes of Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, and Barack Obama.

The press release explaining his prize has not be released as of yet but we will stay connected.
