The 2018 Billboard Music Awards kicked off on Sunday With Kelly Clarkson hosting, the 2018 the show at the MGM Grand Las Vegas on Sunday.

Clarkson, opened the show with a tribute to the victims of the Texas school shooting. The Grammy winner clearly emotional in her sentiments changed gears and did a medley of a few of the nominated songs for the night.

Perhaps the biggest moment of the night was Pop icon Janet Jackson receiving the Icon Award and making history as the first black woman to do so. The Grammy winner also performed and rocked the arena.

Many celebrities were at hand and performed including John Legend, JLO, and Salt & Pepa ended the show with a flash back performance that included En Vogue.
